Fortunately Google Sheets makes it possible for you to select multiple rows at a time so that you can delete all of them with one action. You are able to select rows that are separated from one another, as well as groups of consecutive rows. Our guide below will show you the steps to take to delete multiple rows from a spreadsheet in Google Sheets.

Deleting More Than One Row at a Time in Google Sheets

The steps in this article were performed in the Web browser version of Google Sheets. The Web browser being used is Google Chrome. Step 1: Go to your Google Drive at https://drive.google.com/drive/my-drive and open the spreadsheet file containing the rows that you want to delete. Step 2: Hold down the Ctrl key on your keyboard and click each gray row number to the left of the spreadsheet for each row that you want to delete. Step 3: Position your mouse cursor over one of the selected rows so that it switches to a hand icon, then right-click one of the selected rows and click the Delete selected rows option. Note that you can delete a group of consecutive rows by clicking the top row number, holding down the Shift key on your keyboard, then clicking the bottom row number. This will select the entire range of rows, which you can then delete in the same way. You can use a very similar technique if you need to delete columns from your spreadsheet as well.
